A green solution for weed removal

Being an environmentally conscious company, we actively work to deal with invasive weeds in the most effective, yet environmentally sensitive ways.

We believe that excavation to landfill should be a last resort.  It used to be common for weeds to be “blanket sprayed” but this has been banned on hard surfaces in England since 2012, something which we fully support; the process is non-selective and will affect all vegetation in its path.

Using specialist equipment we are able to inject herbicides directly into the stem of invasive weeds.  This method is highly effective and will not affect surrounding native vegetation  nor does it harm wildlife.  It is therefore, the only solution when dealing with river banks and areas where Tree Preservation Orders have been issued.

As well as being safe, stem injection is highly practical.  The treatment is not weather dependent, unlike spraying which cannot be undertaken in heavy rains or high winds.

No matter what the location

When working within 5 meters of any water course, it is a requirement to inform the Environment Agency who demand that operatives are qualified to a minimum NPTC PA6AW. At SLC we have taken one step further and have operatives who are certified to undertake chemical applications with boat mounted applicators, ensuring we can tackle all invasive weeds regardless of location.

We work closely with the Environment Agency and always have the necessary permissions to carry out work on sensitive or ecologically protected sites which helps to protect the landowner from liability when treating invasive weeds.Contact us about your weed issues and we will arrange a site visit and recommend the most appropriate and effective method of eradication.
